Halloween Night

Hello ghastly ghouls and warty witches!  We are just CrEePiNg in to wish you all a Happy Halloween Night!

Greetings from my little Monsters!

LOL!  It's Halloween!

It's going to be a MAGICAL night!

With a dash of POLITICAL HUMOR!

And a pinch of HORROR! {Leave it to Trump to piggy back Jason...eeek!...run while you can!}

That all sounds like a recipe for a party!  Let the festivities begin!  Trick or Treat here we come!

A WiCkEd NiGhT was had by all!  Happy Halloween friends and foes!

Witches Brew

Could there possibly be anything better to wake up to on Halloween morning than a bubbling cup of Witches Brew?  I think not!

Lucy's Pre-K class, which is adorably called the Zoo Crew, put on a Halloween parade and spook-tacular show this morning.  To start the shindig this class of cuties paraded around the auditorium showing off their costumes.  Unicorn Princes Lucy was waving right and left to the adoring audience.

Once they took the stage, the class sang and danced to a little ditty called Witches Brew.  Per usual, Lucy was all about performing and I couldn't stop smiling or snapping pictures.  I mean, just look at her...{and remember this is coming from a mama who finally got a performer at kiddo #3...it was a long time coming}

Her facial expressions just about had me in stitches.  She is such a ham and I was eating up every single morsel!  Love this girl!

As if the performance weren't enough, they offered a photo op for the little stars and their biggest fans on stage.  Best back stage pass I've ever had!

I don't know how things could get much better, but here comes Halloween night...

Just Carving In The Rain

♬♪ We're just carving in the rain, just carving in the rain.  ♫♩What a beautiful feeling I'm happy again!♫♪

Instead of singing in the rain, we were carving in the rain this Saturday.  One of our favorite Halloween parties was canceled due to the ghoul-ish weather, so we ducked for cover with our pumpkins in tow.

Our downstairs patio has served us well on rainy days.  And although the kiddos were not initially  thrilled about the change in venue, they warmed up nicely to the idea once the carving started.  What can I say?  They are creatures of habit, just like their mama.

Not too long ago, pumpkin carving at my house made major headway when all the littles decided they could handle cleaning out their pumpkins all by themselves.  Since then, I stand by until the actual carving begins.  And I'm not even needed by Jack for that part anymore.  These little monsters are growing up!

Here we come pumpkin guts, goo, and seeds...

Even Princess Magpie was digging in.  Stop the presses, Maggie's hands are dirty!...and she's smiling.

Next on the agenda, the family favorite...drawing and carving.  I'm always so intrigued to see what they each decide on.

This year, Lucy chose a cat.  I was thrilled when she jumped on my suggestion of making the tail and whiskers out of construction paper and glue.  The idea of carving whiskers sounded down right daunting to me.

Maggie has emoji's on the brain like I've never seen.  Spoiler alert...everything from her Halloween costume to her birthday party has been emoji-fied.  And now it's taken over her pumpkin!

After she finished up her artistry, Daddy did the carving.  {and I can't really explain Maggie in the coat straight out of the dress up closet, but I can hardly explain anything she wears these days}

And last, but not least, is good ol' creative Jack.  When he gets an idea, you better be prepared that he is going to see it through.

So remember, way back when at the pumpkin patch when he opted to not paint his mini pumpkins?  And he begged for three instead of one?  Well this is why.

Those little suckers were off to Pumpkin Prison.  Apparently there has been a rise on mini pumpkins burglarizing the neighborhood.  Leave it to Jack to stop them in their tracks.

Now all these pumpkin creations adorn our front porch.  Time for Trick or Treaters!  Happy 3 days before Halloween!

No Tricks, Just Treats!

Welcome my pretties...would you care for a ghoulish treat from the Cibula monsters?  BWAHAHA!

The eldest monster has plans to treat his friends with a pair of Dracula's fangs this Halloween season. Classmates beware....

The daring sister monsters will be delivering gooey icky eyeballs from creatures far and wide.  Yum!

And lest we not forget, the mini monster's teachers.  Drink up and have a spooky Halloween if you dare!  Cheers!

BWAHAHA!  Halloween is in the air!

"Ear" We Go

This post takes a little prefacing, so bear with me...."ear" we go...

First off, all of these pictures are taken with my phone, no filter, straight off the thing, because if I'm being honest, I didn't really think this would go down.  So, why bring my real camera?

And second, {back to the "I really didn't think this would go down"}, Maggie and I had a deal.  The deal was, she stopped sucking her thumb {a bedtime habit} and I would let her get her ears pierced.  Because you know, big girls with earrings don't suck their thumbs even if it is just to go to sleep.

I really thought there was no chance.  But, wouldn't you know this little stinker stopped her thumb sucking right then and there!  I can't lie, I had my suspicions about her keeping it up. So, I made Maggie keep a chart and mark it for 28 days.  Because isn't that how long it takes to break a habit?  I think it is anyway. Regardless, it worked.

I checked her thumb every morning and she was doing it.  And let me tell you, come the 29th day, she was ready to pierce those ears.

So off we went to the nearest Claire's Boutique and prepared to do this thing.  Ear we go!  I was sure she would back out when she got in the chair.  But, nope my Maggie was determined.

And at that, they did each ear separately!  I was for sure, we would be walking out of that place with only one ear pierced.  But, nope again, Maggie didn't even flinch.

And we were on to the next ear. {with a smile!}  Who is this child?

Maggie picked the sparkliest starter earrings she could find.  We have these cuties for 6 weeks before she can change them.  And guess what is waiting in her jewelry box...a pack of emoji earrings.  So cute!  I can't wait to see my darling all dazzled up!

Swinging By Southern Belle

Some things are just a tradition that can't be changed.  Southern Belle Farms is one of those for us.  Every pumpkin season we make the trip over to the farm.  And every year it's that much better.  I don't know how that can even be possible...it's just that great of a place.

The weather was glorious and the company was just as lovely.  The Carpers made the annual trek with us and it was so fun for all of us to have a friend {me included!}.

This sign was a new addition this year.  How I would have loved to have this picture year after year of my little pumpkins.   Oh well, guess a new tradition has begun.  We will have to see how tall they are next Fall!

Of course, our jaunt around the farm included lots of old faves, like the corn shooter...

The corn maze...{which I am happy to note that we made it out of lickety split}

And actual corn picking...{the things that fascinate these city girls}

A new improved tractor looking seesaw...

The ever popular bounce pillow...

The old pedal cart track with new fancy pedal carts...

The Cow Train {which we never miss out on}...

And the hill tunnel slide, which Maggie has still yet to try!

These boys, being the grown up fellas that they are, cruised around the farm on their own most of the time.  On occasion, they popped over for a check in and I would snag a quick picture while I could.

Some things never change.  Have I ever mentioned we call him "Monkey J" around here?

Our last stop before the anticipated pumpkin patch was the petting farm.  I get the biggest kick out of this area every visit.

I mean seriously?  You can even get a cow to lick you if you are in to that sort of experience. And let me tell you, that thing is GIANT and has the texture of pure sandpaper.

But, make way, it was time to head to the patch!  My kids have a love/hate relationship with this part of the visit.  As you can imagine they love the pumpkin picking and loathe the picture taking.

With a 100% cooperation on their end, it was quick and painless.  And might I add...precious!

{and I think it's safe to assume I did not pick out Maggie's pumpkin patch picture outfit...some things are better left alone these days}

The girls took their mini pumpkins over to the painting table, while Jack saved his for some sort of plan he has for them at home.  I can't wait to see this one.  Always something creative whirling around in his head....especially when it comes to pumpkins.

And from there, we headed out through the new Country Store door with a car full of pumpkins {and I'm sure some other random items}.

Cheers to Southern Belle Farm and Pumpkin Traditions!
