Pit Stop At Lego Land

With every winter break comes a much needed winter vacation.  And doesn't Lego Land sound just like the place?  Well, it did to my 6, 9, and 11 year olds.

So, it basically went something like this...Grammy graciously gifted us a Bahamian Cruise for New Years Eve.  The kids figured out the port was right next to Orlando and naturally you have to spend the night in town before embarking.  Next thing you know, I was planning a night at the Lego Land Hotel and a day at the park.

I can't say it wasn't a brilliant plan.  I doubt we would have been making any trips to Central Florida just to go to Lego Land and the kids have been begging.  So why not since we were right there anyway?

The hotel did not disappoint.  The kids {most especially Jack} were enthralled with the fact that Legos were  everywhere you looked! Lego men, Lego plates, Lego rugs, a Lego room, a Lego elevator, and the list goes on.

We arrived on Friday night, just in time to doze off in our Lego filled room.  The kid's picked the explorer themed room and it was just that...a room full of Lego Explorers.

Saturday morning we were all raring to go check out the park. But, before that we ate a hearty breakfast at the Lego Diner in the hotel.  Look who even joined us?

From there we met our Lego Tour Guide in the lobby of the hotel.  Since we only had a day at the park, we wanted to make the most of it.  Our guide took us through a secret entrance which had us all mesmerized. We literally walked right through the Lego workshop.

We were able to see models being built, plans being made, and millions of Lego pieces and parts.

Once inside the park, we admired all the Christmas Lego decor.  It was everywhere and quite fascinating.  To think these massive decorations were made solely of Legos!

We made a point to ride every ride in the park and some of them even more than once.

Our guide gave us a bit of Lego history while she also led us to the front of every line.  She was an absolute joy to spend the day with.

This girl could not get enough of the roller coasters {and she was finally tall enough for them!}.  She was able to ride her favorite one several times thanks to our Lego hostess.

But my favorite moment was this one...

The girls and I just cruised right along in our Lego boat while the boys stayed back shipwrecked.

With New Years Eve right around the corner, the park had a few 2019 activities going on for the kiddos.  I love my girls' new year's resolutions...

{that's do a back flip on the bars}

{and get into competitive dance}

 Jack bypassed the resolution station and roamed around the Lego Mini-Land longer than mine and the girl's attention span would allow.

Meanwhile the girls and I found a few more New Year's activities to keep us busy while the boys did the full tour.

We topped our day at the park with a little shopping.  This was like Rodeo Drive for Jack.

Couldn't resist...lol!

Once the girls had had just about enough of Legos, we took a pool break at the hotel. Amazing that you literally walk a few feet from the park's entrance to the hotel entrance.  Seamless and I love that!

Best part?  We met up with a few friends from home at the Lego Hotel Pool Hotel!  What are the chances?

Before swimming, Jack and I made our way around the property for a few must have pictures {hence his attire}
.

Okay...now he was ready to swim!

We enjoyed dinner poolside with our friends and then....wait for it...this boy dragged me back to the park for the evening.

We squeezed in a few more rides, fireworks, and some more shopping {shhhh}.

It is seriously time to retire.  This mama is lego'ed out and we have a boat to catch in the morning!

Merry Christmas

Just popping in to give a very hurried and poorly photographed snip-it of Christmas morning.

So...Santa did stop by after all.

He brought Maggie a few little things to open {although she had told him to give all her gifts to the poor children because in actuality she just wanted her room re-done}.  He also took good care of Jack, Lucy and even Shelton!

Jack's Christmas could basically be themed Lego and Lucy's could be themed Gymnastics.  Everyone was happy so Santa was too.

{And btw, that's the kid's tree back there.  We have a real one upstairs. lol}

If by some miracle this video does play, it's pretty stinkin' adorbs of the girls enjoying the new gymnastics equipment.

Time to clean up all this wrapping paper and prepare for all the extended family for our Christmas dinner party.

Shew...I'm already tired.  Tis' the Season!

Merriest Christmas Eve

This might have been my Merriest Christmas Eve ever.  In so many ways it was just like all the other preceding Eves {we love traditions}, but there was one minor difference.  Just hold on to your hat, because it's adorable.

But, first, let's visit those annual Christmas Eve Gingerbread Houses.  For some reason this never gets old for my little trio.  Their favorite part is displaying them for the family at Christmas dinner and everyone taking their guess on who's is who's.  Believe it or not, it's getting harder and harder to tell!

And I gotta say, staying in your pjs all morning and afternoon is pretty amazing too!

After the completion of houses, we exchanged family gifts.  And for the life of me, I can't figure why I have no pictures of that.  Oh well.  So in your mind's eye, imagine this... Jack got a coveted Roller Coaster Lego, Maggie got a gift certificate to have her room re-done {yes, she talked us into it} and Lucy got a gymnastics set.

All three were ecstatic and so much so, Santa might just be able to skip our house this year.

Before we knew it, it was time to slip out of those pjs and into our Christmas attire for Christmas Eve Mass.  The girls decided they wanted to go all out this year and really get glitzy!

Jack couldn't dread anything more than getting dressed up, but he was a trooper and looked mighty handsome to boot.

Get ready for it. Are you still holding on to your hat?  Because here comes the cuteness that might have made this my Merriest Christmas Eve ever....

Sweet {and brave} little Lucy sang in the Children's Choir.  And not only did I get to hear my precious angel singing songs about Jesus, our entire family got a a front row reserved seat.  Something about being right up front in the holiness of Christmas Eve Mass was mesmerizing.  It was a beautiful experience.

And I FINALLY got an Angel in the Christmas choir.  I love that #3!

Now if that was my favorite part of Christmas Eve, the kids's favorite was yet to come...Christmas Eve dinner {and more excitingly, presents} at Grandma's house.

Seriously Santa...you can skip our house this year!
