Shelton's First

Woof Woof!  Looks who is ONE!

We welcomed this little guy into our home last spring and he has filled it with lots of love, smiles, long walks, wrestling matches, and even a test in patience.  Just when I didn't know if I could love another fur baby again, here came Shelton.

He has been my therapy dog in more ways than one. And a playmate that never tires for my threesome.  He has stolen our hearts and there was no way we were going to let his big birthday pass with a PAW-TY!

The kids were begging and you know it doesn't take much persuasion on my end to find a reason to celebrate.  So here it is...Shelton's 1st Barkday!

We ordered Shelton's cake from Dog City Bakery which was completely dog friendly.  The doggy guests gobbles it up with a side of dog ice cream. Shelton had 12 puppy friends join him!  He is for sure the most social dog that has ever lived at the Cibula house.

The humans enjoyed a spread too of sweets and treats.

Other than Shelton's cake, there were a variety of treats for the pups.  Bones and such in these little treat cups.

And bowls for Doggy Ice Cream!

All the pet guests went home with a favor bag.  It had a red ball, treats, and red and black poopy bags.

Our social fur baby had a blast and could not get enough of all the attention.  He played and ate the entire party.  And as you can imagined passed out hard once the guests left.

We love you Shelton and are so happy you are part of our family!  xoxo. looking forward to many more celebrations with you by our side.

A Caring Cookie

This mama is beaming with pride.  Lucy was chosen as the Character Kid of the Month.  Caring was the trait and I can't imagine a child more deserving.

This little one melts my heart with her empathy and love for others. Our entire family was there to celebrate her award.  I just love that she gave us something to celebrate this dreary February Month.

Way to go my little Caring Cookie!  You Rock Lucy!

We DIG Worms!

There is nothing I love more than being in the Kindergarten classroom.  This week I was Mystery Reader.  What does one do when Valentines Day is over and it's too early to celebrate St. Patricks's Day?  Hmmm...

So I took a look at the kiddo's current curriculum and there it was-dirt, soil, and rocks.  And before I knew it I was planning an activity all about those slimy little creatures who live there.

This kids had a blast and I was pretty impressed by not only my, but their ability to toughen up and shake of the oooohhy-gooey yuckiness of it!

I read two super cute books about worms and then you guessed it, each Kindergartner got their own worm to observe.  We watched them squirm and wiggle and even named them!

And because I couldn't these little cuties get out of there without a sweet treat, I boxed up some delish gummy worms for their dining pleasure.

As for the live buddies, they all went home in a small home of soil with strict instructions to release them into their real habitat at their house.  Lucy found a perfect spot in our flower bed to let her little guy go.

Oh the fun of Kindergarten!

Sweet Candytopia

Are you ready for a delicious post?  Get your sweet tooth ready! Because this is going to be YuMmY!

When I heard Candytopia was visiting Atlanta, I knew it would be the perfect Valentine's gift for my sweethearts.  Imagine a museum of candy with pictures, exhibits and creations every where you turn.

I grabbed tickets and stuck them in the kid's V Day boxes.  Of course, they had no idea what was ahead of them and instead gravitated toward the tangible goodies inside.  But, after their visit, they all admitted it was the best "Valentine's present ever"!

To make the outing even sweeter we enjoyed the day with a few of our fave family friends. The anticipation was beyond...let's get in there!

Even the presentation to enter was pretty cool.  The staff was full of excitement and the entry lobby was a taste of what was to come.  These giants doors opened into a literal world of candy fun!

There were about five rooms in all and each had a unique theme and flavor to it.  And of course, free candy in each of them...pockets were bulging.

I think Maggie's favorite was the art gallery.  She was fascinated with the portraits of famous people made of candy and insisted I take a picture of her with this one.  Pray for me.

Hold your breath...we are about to go under water.

This girl...I tell you, she always has me laughing.

The aquarium room was definitely impressive, but the rainbow room had everyone giddy and COVERED in confetti.

Even after using the blowers, we still went home with confetti in our hair, in our shoes, in our purse, and every where else imaginable.

The marshmallow room was an immediate favorite too.  Who hasn't dreamed of swimming in a pool of marshmallow madness?  Okay, so they weren't the real thing, but it was still pretty amazing.

Our final stop was, of course, the gift shop.  And yes, we left with more sweets....all in the name of Valentine's Day!

Such a SWEET SWEET day.  I love these little sugars of mine.
