And That's A Wrap

In a span of a day, we went from proud tears, to a wild swim party to a wet bus stop.  It's fair to say, we are going to sleep well tonight.

This was Lucy's first time on the other side!  Her anticipation was nearly the cutest thing I have ever seen.  For years, she's been watching these kiddos get off the bus on the last day of the year and get soaked.  And each year she's counted down until it was her turn.  Well, Lulu this time has come.

Get ready to get wet!

And let me tell you, it was better than she had ever imagined.

Maggie, who is officially a pro at this, got her drenching with a smile and then made her way to first in line for the ice cream truck.  Smart girl has this event all figured out.

After a good soaking, hanging with friends, and sweet treats, my darling girls headed home to read their walk of fame.  The last sign with each of their of school year accomplishments is always a fan fave.  It's truly amazing to see all they have done in one school year.

And that's a wrap...the end of the school year has been celebrated and summer vacation is here!  Bring on the sunshine!

The Graduate

Okay folks, here you have it, the official goodbye to elementary school.  If I cry through this whole post, please forgive me.

Before I start with graduation, let me just tell you about this boy of mine.  If there ever was a perfect student, Jack is it!  He's the kid who comes home from school, unpacks, heads straight to his desk and completes his homework.  Jack is the kid who never has to be reminded to study or that a test is coming up.  This boy is on auto-pilot.  And anytime I question a project due date or an upcoming test, he says, "I've got it Mommy".  And guess what?  He ALWAYS does!

This kid comes home with straight A's, loves to learn, reads like a maniac, and sadly, is always correcting his Mama.  Yes, I'll admit, this kid is way smarter than me.

Jack is well behaved, well mannered and adored by his teachers.  Elementary School has been good to him and I can't wait to watch him soar into Middle School.  He's ready.  I'm sure of that.  And he's going to flourish.  I'm sure of that too.  What I'm not sure of is if I'm ready.

So today when this marvelous student of mine graduated from 5th grade, I felt a sense of pride and I cried.  He was awarded every.single. academic. award possible.  And he stood on that stage completely humbled and unexpectant. His teacher gave a glowing blurb about him while Clay and I beamed from the our seats.

Not only only is this boy a hard worker, he's pretty handsome too. 💙

We said our goodbyes to friends and teachers and then Jack went straight home to rip off those dress clothes.

It was party time!  5th grade celebrated with a massive end of year pool party.  I'm not sure if they have ever had this much fun.

After this wild celebration, we were off to the last day of school bus stop party.  Too many emotions for one day!

Middle school, it's official, here we come....ready or not!

Here Comes The End

The much anticipated end of school year and beginning of summer vacation is underway!  I can't deny that this one has been the hardest for me.  My last kindergartner and more salt in the wound...my eldest is off to middle school!   I'm trying to do my best to wear a smile through it all, but my heart is aching.

But the celebrations must go on and that's just what we've been doing.  We have been super busy celebrating "the end" with all sorts of par-tays!

First up a little Luau Kindergarten style...

Saying goodbye to this teacher is tough stuff.  I couldn't have imagined a better fit than Mrs. A for my spunky Lucy.  It's going to be hard to top this one.

Not to mention a classroom full of besties!  Just pray for me that these two girls are together next year. If not, I'll be drying a lot of tears.

And then there was the 3rd grade goodbyes.  I can't believe my first baby girl is off to 4th grade.  It's impossible!  That sweet bundle of pink just came into my life!  Where did the time go?

3rd grade celebrated with a plethora of minute to win it games .  Maggie was all in.  So much so I could hardly find this girl the entire party.  She's become quite the socialite in her old age.

With "the end" comes gift giving.  My favorite part!  This year I opted for some summer essentials for the classroom teachers.  I filled these wet bags with sunscreen, fun summer earrings, tropical tic-tacs, cocktail napkins, and a hefty Target gift card.

And for all those other folks around school who make my kiddos feel so special, we gave them a bottle of my new favorite sunscreen.  I mean who can't use a bottle of sunscreen?  And it smells absolutely delish!

So there you have two of the three "ends".  One more to come....5th grade graduation.  Bring on the tissues!

Soccer Saturday

Happy Spring and Hello Soccer!

We have spent our spring Saturdays watching this little one play soccer.  Daddy has been coaching, so between practices and games he's been fully immersed.  And Lucy has loved every minute of it!

She has declared that next year she wants to focus on gymnastics and "all sports".  I see some busy Saturdays up ahead.

Good thing I love cheering on this little bow head.

Go Wizards!  One more game before we close out the season.  Leave it to May to wrap everything up.
