Fall Is In The Air

I'm pretty sure Fall has officially arrived, although you would never know by the temperatures.  You won't hear me complain though...bring on the sunshine.

But, like I said, it must me Fall because Grandma invited me and my little hooligans to Scarecrows In The Garden.  The kids will hardly turn down the opportunity to hang with Grandma, so we were in before she could finish the invitation!

I had absolutely no intentions of capturing this weekday evening on camera.  But, when the wild ones started being, oh so cute, I couldn't resist.  So here are a few iPhone pics for you to peruse through.

I think they actually love each other sometimes!

The Botanical Gardens really brings out the Zen in Lucy.

And I do believe Grandma deserves at least one shout out for treating us to this festive evening.

We topped our Scarecrow Garden hunting with homemade mini pies.  So yummy!  Even Maggie tried one...woah!

I'm sure Jack will thank me one day for posting this picture of him.  But, it's only fair, right?  I mean the other girls got a pie eating picture....I can't leave him out.

We are looking forward to more Fall Festivities...here we come October!

Kick Your Boots Up

I confess, not much excites me more than good country music and my cowgirl boots.  Unfortunately, my hubby doesn't exactly share the same sentiment with me.  So poor guy gets drug around to concerts on occasion {hence Blake Shelton last year}.

In an effort to appeal to his "good times" side, I thought it would be nice of me to jazz up our most recent country concert night.  So thoughtful of me, right?

So we grabbed a few fun couples with included cousins and friends, rented a party bus, and dined on good ol' BBQ before the show.  Now, Thomas Rhett and Old Dominion may not be his favorite performers {although they are mine right behind Blake}, but no one can deny boot scootin' good times did occur.

So much fun!  Can we do it again?

And we kind of did.  This time I spared Clay.  {so thoughtful of me again, right?} And we made a girls night out of an epic Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood show.  Oh wow, can you say High School Memories?!?

It was amazing!  And so much fun to kick my boots up with these fun ladies!  I have literally been stalking my Live Nation App to see which country super star will be rolling into town next!

I think I want to be a cowgirl when I grow up...

A Kitchen Visit

My darling Grandma {known as GG to the kids} made a stop to visit us on her way to the sunshine state.  Yes, my 81 year old Grandma still makes the trek from Kentucky to Florida via car.  She's amazing {and crazy} like that.  I sure do love that lady.

Before she could even get her bags in the house these two girls of mine were begging GG for some kitchen time.  There is not much that makes them happier than baking in the kitchen with her.

But the best part may just be what the girls wanted to bake.  Get ready for it...

Yes! Poop Emojis!  As you can imagine, my Grandma hardly knows what an emoji is and would be pretty much mortified to know there was a "poop" one at that!  So before I could even explain, innocent GG exclaimed, "oh what cute little mountains".  I winked at the girls and from there we referred to the brownies as mountains.  Shew!

Lots of brown gooey licking and messes quickly followed.  Yum!

Happy kitchen memories seem to be the mantra with this lovely lady.  I am so lucky God gave her to us.

Until her next trek through town...

Back To School For Lu

It's Back To School For Lucy...finally!  That "finally" comes a whole month after her big siblings started.  If you know Lucy, she was itching to get back to school, see her friends, and play.  She is most definitely my social butterfly.

Lucy and I went to orientation at her new school on Friday.  Yes, new school!  After much persuading last year, I finally caved.  And I'm so glad I did. The school could not be any sweeter.

Lucy's meet and greet giddiness was absolutely contagious. We were both all smiles.  I am just so happy that she is happy!  The best feeling ever.

She met her teachers, a few new friends, and checked out her new stomping grounds.  We are both trying to figure out the lay of the land and get all the procedures down.  So far I am full of questions and she is just rolling right along.

Lucy's new teachers seem pretty incredible from what I've seen thus far.  We were super thrilled to see Ms. H as the assistant.  She is a lovely lady who lives right in our neighborhood.

And I could hardly believe all the connections I had with Ms. M, the lead teacher.  It was certainly meant to be.

After a long Labor Day weekend {and many countdowns}, Lucy woke up Tuesday morning and was more than ready for her first day.  You think someone is excited?

She had absolutely no problem posing for her first day pictures. So much so, I finally had to cut her off.  It wasn't easy.  Just look how beautiful {and totally silly} this doll baby is?

The house got quiet really quick this week.  I can't deny, it was pretty nice, but I also can't deny I missed my "Lucy Love" like crazy!

I may just be a blubbering mess next year....eeek!
