Our Fur Baby Is 2

I knew time was fling with my kids.  But with my puppy too?  Shelton Dude Cibula is 2 years old today.  Which means in the lingo of professional dog peeps, he isn't a puppy anymore! No more using the puppy excuse for his ill behavior.  Good thing he's nearly perfect.

As you may recall we threw Shelton a serious 1st Birthday Bash.  From here on out we are keeping it simple.  But...you better believe we will still be celebrating our favorite fur baby.

So on this day, February 24, 2020, Shelton was treated to a day of all the things he loves.  We started with a trip to the river.  Running through the woods and splashing in the water just might be Shelton's #1 past time.

At the end of our walk, big guy looked more like a yellow lab than a Cream Retriever. And because it was his birthday, there was no way I could bathe him {that is definitely not on his fave list}.  Therefore he spent his entire birthday in this condition, but as dirty as he was, he was a happy pup.

Next he went to doggy daycare for a two hour playdate.  His tail was going a mile a minute when we pulled up.  He can never get enough of playmates.

And finally, Shelton's bestie in the hood came over to top off his afternoon. There was lots of birthday love, playing, and wrestling shared between those two.

By evening all of Shelton's people were home and it was time to celebrate as a family.  I don't know who was more excited, Shelton or his human siblings.  This was a much anticipated event at our house.

Don't let this face fool you.  He was ecstatic.

And down it goes.  Sitting through a round of Happy Birthday was actually worth it to get his chops on that peanut butter cake.

And what is a birthday without presents?  Sweet Maggie spent her own chore money to shop for Shelton.  I adore that tender heart.

We also surprised Shelton with a new Kong toy that he's had his eyes on {and I know this because he steals his besties all the time} and a few serious big boy bones.

We adore you Shelton on your birthday and always!

Thank you for bringing so much fun and joy to my kiddos. And thank you for suggesting all those long walks.  I've never been through so many pair of tennis shoes as I have the past two years.

All our love! xoxo

Mrs. A Is Having A Baby

Lucy's sweetest {and most fun} Kindergarten teacher is having a baby!  The love for Mrs. A didn't go away once Lucy went off to First grade.  So when we heard the good news we just knew we had to get the class together from last year to celebrate.

Myself and two other momma's put our heads together to plan a shower that was Over The Moon.  Once we saw Mrs. A's registry the theme was a no brainer.  Moons and Stars and everything that twinkles!

I grabbed a few things off of her registry to decorate with.  And then used my Cricut to make sweet themed signs and twinkling star vases.  Almost all of the decor had a multi-purpose and we let Mrs. A take it all home to get the nursery started!

While I took on the decorating, the other hostesses offered up their house and took care of the food and dessert.  Thankfully so, because the food is my least favorite task.

Since we knew we would have a house full of students, I found kid friendly favors.  They were bookmarks with "Love you to the Moon & Back" in the exact shower colors.  My girls have already put theirs to use.

Here is one of those twinkly vases before it made it to the shower.  I realized we didn't get any great pictures of them.

But, the best pictures are coming up.  Look at this super teacher with her baby bump and a room full of kiddos who adore her.

So much love and so thankful to celebrate Baby A!

Heart Day

Happy Heart Day to my little ones, my hubby, my loving pup and all of you!  I don't need an excuse to love on my family, but Valentine's Day sure seems like a good reason.

My little ones woke up to a sweet breakfast and their annual heart doors.  Nothing gives me more joy than seeing their precious smiles when they read their hearts.

And who wouldn't feel the love this HEART day waking up to these darling faces?

We have a serious sloth obsession over here so as you can imagine I went a little #slothlove crazy on the girl's valentine buckets.  Apparently the retail market shares our obsession because I had no problem finding lots of goodies to fit our HEART day theme.

I HEART you Jack, Maggie, & Lucy.  Forever my loves!

Snow Day Down South

Just when I had near given up on having a snow day down south...surprise!

And I mean this was a big surprise.  We have gone from the 30's and 40's, then to torrential rain with temps in the 60's and 70's, to snow falling down all in the course of four days.

I almost dismissed Maggie when she came flying into my bedroom at the crack of dawn to tell me there were flurries in the sky.  "yeah, yeah".  But before we knew it those flurries turned into real snowflakes and my kids were out the door all bundled up.

Too bad it was a Saturday rather than a school day, but we will take it.

It's tough to tell from my late afternoon pictures, but there was plenty on the ground to build a snowman and get some sledding in before it turned to mush.  Not to mention, our little Shelton got his first romp in the snow!

I'm certainly not holding my breath, but I do have my fingers crossed that we will get one more SNOW day before Spring!
