While The Boys Are Away...

...The Girls Will Play!

Oh I just love being a girl and I really love MY girls!  Having two of them to share this girly side with is almost more fun than I can handle sometimes.  Pinch me!

So where were the boys? They actually spent the weekend camping out on an island {I'm pretty sure they had a blast}.  Last check-in call I got, they had wild horses running all around them.  Um...amazing!

With the boys away it opened up an entire weekend up of non-stop diva time for my princesses and me!

Let the TwIrLy GiRlY weekend begin...

We started Friday afternoon with a mani and pedi.  I seriously can't think of any better way to get my nails done than wedged between my two girls.  I almost burst with love for them right there...they were way too cute.

Maggie and I went for green {in honor of St Patty's day}.  Lucy went rainbow!  I have to admit Maggie's young golden skin works the green much better than mine.  Don't put us on an episode of "who wore it best?" please.

Us girls had dinner out on the town and then came home for a Barbie movie night!  We topped our evening off with a slumber party in Mommy's bed.  Can I just say Lucy's giggling while she was dreaming made me just about melt?  Darling!

Saturday we woke up to an action packed agenda.  Maggie had ice skating lessons.  Remember this outfit?... It's still kicking and a fan fave out on the ice.

We then came home for a quick wardrobe change.  It was a must that we got as FANCY as we could.

Did you ask why?  Well...we were off to the Fancy Nancy Show at a local theatre!  We could hardly stand the excitement.  We grabbed the fanciest date we could find {who just so happens to live around the corner from us and is one of Maggie's dear K buddies}.  Is he dapper or what?

We showed off our fanciest twirls and moves...

...and then grabbed our seats at the show.

The show was absolutely divine {that's a fancy word for incredible}.  The singing was exquisite, the actresses were darling, and the entire story was precious!

I seriously want to hit every show until it leaves town.

Post show we were able to meet the actresses.  I mean could it get any better?

There's Bree...

And of course, Fancy Nancy, who was way cuter in real life.  I mean like totally adorable!

Just when we thought we were slap full of girly goodness, it was time to head off to a Pinkalicious Birthday Party.  Pinkalicious is another one of our faves!

The party was at the gym and the girls wore themselves out with all the pink fun!

Our Saturday ended with another sleep over!  Only this time it was in Maggie's room.  I begged the girls to stay with me {I'm not even kidding when I say it was so sweet and snuggly the night before}.  But, I think they had big plans in mind.

The only problem was they were absolutely worn out!  15 minutes in and the lights were off and not a sound was coming from that pink bedroom.  Beauty sleep!

We spent Sunday playdate hoping and anticipating the boys arrival.

Being a girl is so much fun!!...but we definitely were excited to get the rest of our family back.   You can only have so much girl time before you start missing the boys!

Prepping For Camp Jack

These just hit the mailbox today.  I'm hoping they will arrive at some happy camper's houses soon.

I have a feeling this is going to be a good one...

Off to chop firewood and other assorted camping party details...

The End Of The Rainbow

Although we are not Irish, we can't help but want to find some sort of treasure at the End of the Rainbow.  My kids get the biggest kick out of leprechauns, gold, and rainbows that I just can't let this holiday pass without some form of celebrating.

{I'm always looking for a reason.}

We are pulling out the green and passing out treats a bit early this year.  I just can't stand the fact that St. Patrick's Day is almost on top of Easter.  I fear my Easter decor won't get it's due time.  So that leads me to push St. Patty's day up a bit.

So shall I share what we have in store for our classmates and terrific teachers?

Now don't get too excited, it is just St. Patrick's Day after all, but none the less a reason to show a few special folks just how LUCKY we are to know them...

Please don't laugh {or judge}, but when I spotted these festive St. Patty's Day socks I knew they were perfect.  It's really not easy finding an appropriate leprechaun day treat.  Surely you admit, it's better than a coffee mug?

Not to mention, they were straight from the $1 section.  Can't beat that.  I wrapped them up, tied a cute tag on and think they make a nice gesture.  If anything, the teachers can wear them with their boots or to bed, right?

For the classmates, it seems candy is always the way to their hearts.  I really wanted to think outside of the "candy box" but when my kids saw these it was over.  Thanks to the Oriental Trading catalog.  I was already placing an order for Jack's birthday party so it seemed like a no brainer.

We printed these cute labels on sticker paper and Jack, Maggie, and Lucy got to work.  Easy peasy!  And they had fun doing it.

So now all I have left to do is make a St. Patty's day breakfast table {that everyone likes} and a very green lunch for three kiddos.  Wish me LUCK! {I do have a week or so to think it through}.

Hello March

How did this happen?...well, Hello March!  I swear we just got back from our skiing vacation and here I am already into a new month and I've hardly touched base via the blog.

Don't mistake that for a reprieve in things 'happening" around here.  I have been so {happily} busy working on Teacher Appreciation Week for the elementary school that I've lost track of days and weeks for that matter.  It has literally been like planning one of my kids birthday parties only 5 of them in one week.  Talk about work!

Huge shout out to my co-planners though, couldn't have a more fun, hardworking, creative, budget keeping two ladies to work with.  Love ya both!  I'm pretty sure they are my new besties.

Other than that, Jack's birthday has been swirling around in my mind.  Piles are emerging and I am so ready to tackle it.  I'm thinking it's going to be a fun one!  Can't wait...

Gotta get through Teacher Appreciation Week {TAW} first...can't wait too share pics of that week. Hold onto your "gardening" hats, it's right around the corner.

So here I am to say Happy March!  What a great month.  I love it for two very important reasons... {1} Spring is on the horizon.  I'm looking forward to putting the boots away, throwing the kids outside to play in the beautiful weather, and soaking up a little sunshine.  Vitamin D works wonders for my moods.  And {2} Dr. Seuess's birthday! I mean who doesn't love that day/week?

As you can imagine, 2nd grade had a few themed dress up days but nothing too spectacular.  I suppose they were too busy taking tests and getting grades.  Blah Blah Blah.  But....my Kindergarten kiddo had an action packed themed week of story times, dress ups, Seuss-tastical snacks, and fun.

If you have been anywhere in the vicinity of me in the past month or so, all you've heard about is TAW.  I'm sorry for that.  But, I must mention it, once again, and put all the blame there on why I'm a little short on Dr Seuss week pics.  And to make matters worse, they are all off my phone...gasp!

But, any picture of Maggie the Great Kindergartener is worth sharing, at least in my humble opinion.

What would Dr Seuss week be without Wacky Wednesday?  I was pleasantly surprised that Maggie actually wanted to participate in this.  This is against all her "fashionista" being.  But, she embraced it fully had a great time picking out her wacky attire.

She even played the part a bit.

My favorite part of the week was when I got to pop in the classroom for a Dr Seuss lesson.  You must know how much I adore being in that K classroom.

We did a fun Lorax lesson {love that book} and I had each of the kids plant seeds in a pot they decorated to look like the Lorax himself.

I must also note it was PJ day hence Maggie's attire.  I would also assume that is why this class full of K kiddos was wired!

We topped of the week with dressing like a Dr Seuss character.  I rambled off several options for Maggie and in the end she wanted to wear Jack's old "Wocket In The Pocket" costume.  I was really looking forward to giving another look a whirl.  But she insisted.

I'm assuming it was because she could don a pair of leggings with it.  That is Maggie's new go to style.  I can't lie it kills me somedays.  How I miss a fun pair of ruffle pants!

I'm almost embarrassed to share these lack luster pictures, but they will have to do until I get through this next BIG week.  My good camera is getting dusty...oh my!

Happy March...and Dr Seuss week!
